International Missions that Melrose UMC has significantly supported over the last year:
Greenward Greenward (greenwardngo.org) is a non-profit in Tanzania that is led by members of our church. On the third Sunday of every month, we collect for this important work. Of course, the true leaders of the Greenward work are the women and leaders that are served and empowered by the agronomic and simplified cooker efforts that have been occurring for years.
Warmakuna Hope (Warmakuna Hope – Buscamos la Inclusión) is a Peruvian based non-profit that is led by members of our church from Peru. Church members are assisting with the establishment of the U.S. version of the non-profit, and the church is planning a mission trip for 2025. Warmakuna Hope focuses on engaging and assisting families and children with disabilities in Peru.
Southern Sudan Healthcare Organization (SSHCO) SSHCO | South Sudan Healthcare Organization | Non Profit is a South Sudan focused Christian non-profit that provides healthcare and food security assistance to displaced persons in need in South Sudan. Melrose UMC served as a sponsor for the SSHCO 2024 fundraiser banquet. Pastor Amanda also traveled to South Sudan in 2024 and visited with the non-profit. The Director of SSHCO, Dr. Jacob Atem, was an invited speaker at Melrose UMC in 2024 and he had an opportunity to share information related to the needs.
