Pastor Amanda Hodges
Lead Clergy, Licensed Local Pastor
Greetings! I have been blessed to serve as the lay supply pastor for Melrose UMC since June of 2023. I am a third year, hybrid MDiv Duke Divinity School student. I enjoy providing a welcoming environment for new believers to encounter and engage with Christ. Furthering our discipleship, for both long-term and new believers, is also one of my passions.
At Melrose UMC, we practice discipleship through community fellowship, in-depth Bible study opportunities, and service. Our faith actively engages in and serves our local community and beyond. We strive to focus on the missions and areas that God guides us to through the presence of the Holy Spirit.
I am currently serving Melrose UMC on a part-time basis. I have continued with my first career of 21 years, as a professional entomologist and faculty member at the University of Florida. I received a PhD in Entomology from the University of Georgia in 2002, and a B.S. in Biology from the University of Georgia in 1997.
My husband Greg is also a professional entomologist, and we married during our graduate programs at the University of Georgia. We enjoy traveling, swimming, hiking, nature, and our time in the scripture together.

Hi! My name is Taylor Hall. I have been blessed to be the Children's Ministry Director. I have three children: Brandon, Tynslei, and Adalynn. I love children and love to help spread the word of Jesus. I've studied Early Childhood Education and also studied as a Registered Behavioral Technician. My hobbies are swimming, coaching baseball and softball, and being an active parent in all my children want to do!
